- The 2017 issue of “Svetilnik”, an annual publication on India and Bulgaria which has been spreading light to bring Bulgarians closer to the magic of India. The special edition commemorating 20 years of the start of the publication of “Svetilnik” is dedicated to 70 years of India’s independence.
- The Embassy organized a trilateral IT conference on 26-27 March 2018 involving India, the Balkans and the US in partnership with Indian Bulgarian Business Chamber and American Chamber under the auspices of Bulgarian EU Presidency. Ambassador Pooja Kapur addressed the audience at the inaugural session which was attended by more than 500 participants.
- Vishwa Hindi Diwas was celebrated with great fanfare in Sofia. Over 250 people attended the event organised jointly by the Embassy of India, Indology Department of Sofia University, Indira Gandhi School, East West Indological Foundation and Devam Foundation at the National Science & Technology Centre to mark the occasion.
- Ambassador Pooja Kapur called on the Hon'ble Vice President of Bulgaria, H.E. Mrs. Iliana Iotova on 15 February 2018. They comprehensively discussed bilateral relations and took positive note of their reinvigoration.
- The Embassy of India and the Indian-Bulgarian Business Chamber jointly organised a business forum titled Modern India-Business Opportunities in Sofia on 24 January 2018. Leading CEOs representing a wide cross-section of Bulgarian industry and services attended the forum.
- Ambassador Pooja Kapur had a productive meeting with Deputy Finance Minister of Bulgaria, Ms Marinela Petrova. They discussed bilateral matters as well as the upcoming ASEM Finance Ministers Meeting in Sofia
- Ambassador Pooja Kapur attended a Reception hosted by H.E. President Dr. Gjorge Ivanov of Macedonia and First Lady Madame Maya Ivanova in Gevgelija for the diplomatic corps to mark the Orthodox Christmas and New Year.
- At a New Year Reception, President Rumen Radev identified India as one of the key countries that Bulgaria was working to enhance relations with. Ambassador Pooja Kapur seen here greeting the President and First Lady.
- The Embassy of India, Sofia celebrated the 69th Republic Day of India with a flag-hoisting ceremony in the Chancery premises. Indian nationals, persons of Indian origin as well as friends of India attended the ceremony.
- Ambassador Pooja Kapur attended the screening of the film Mary Kom as part of the MENAR Film Festival in Sofia on 23 January, hosted in partnership with the Embassy
- The Embassy welcomed young children on 15 January, courtesy Centre Amilipe, to mark the Roma New Year, Vasilitsa. The talented youngsters performed a beautiful Holi dance and blessed the Embassy officials in the traditional way. Ambassador Pooja Kapur gave them a pep talk and extended a standing invitation to revisit the Embassy.
- Ambassador Pooja Kapur attended the stunning Opening Ceremony of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU at the Ivan Vazov National Theatre in Sofia on 11 January.
- Ambassador Pooja Kapur had a productive meeting with Bulgarian Deputy Economy Minister Alexander Manolev on 9 January about holding the next meeting of the India-Bulgaria Joint Economic, Scientific & Technical Commission at an early date.
- Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was celebrated at the Embassy of India, Sofia on 9 January 2018 which was attended by members of the Indian community, PIOs as well as friends and well-wishers of India.
- Ambassador Pooja Kapur exchanged festive greetings with Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister of Bulgaria, H.E. Ekaterina Zaharieva at a holiday reception hosted by the latter.
