ITEC Day for 2008-09
To celebrate ITEC Day for 2008-09, a Get-together cum Reception was held at the Embassy Residence on October 07, 2008. Out of the 70 invitees, the function was well-attended including ITEC alumni over the past several years; PCFD participants; alumni of Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra; officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Agency for IT and Communication and from other Ministries; members of Friends of India Club, East-West Indological Foundation and Indology Department of Sofia University. Ambassador Shri Lal Dingliana addressed the gathering and underscored the importance and significance of the ITEC Program in strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries. He also spoke briefly about the origin, span and latitude of the ITEC programme and its successful journey in cooperation with friendly countries since its inception in 1964. Some of the ITEC participants spoke highly about the Course and about India in general and said that they have benefited greatly from the courses and look forward to visiting India again given an opportunity.
